Pilosocereus robinii – Key tree cactus (Florida sales only)
$20.00
Description
The Florida Key tree cactus – Big Pine Key, native to the Keys. Our very largest cactus, many call it “Florida’s own “saguaro”” as it can grow into a 30+ foot tall candelabra with many arms. I acquired the fruit to germinate as a contribution from a private homesteader in Big Pine Key on who’s land this species grows, and I can legally only sell them in Florida as it is a critically endangered species, as explained to me by FWC, USFWS. $20/each. The landowner searched for a cactus nursery that cares intently about native FL cactus species by growing and putting them into cultivation, so I answered the call and made it happen. Many in this lot have already headed back to Big Pine Key to increase the population on his land. I am hoping for serious and experienced cactus growers for this species. The last photo of two 3ft plus pollination stock plants given to me by conservators as thimble-sized seedlings two years ago is included here as an example – those are not for sale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idSyyo89eMM
